Filling the Hopper

Please follow the instructions carefully in order to prevent any clumping or channeling of the coffee in the hopper, which may cause inconsistent filling. If you have to use very oily coffee at the espresso grind size, please consult iFillSystems for special instructions.

1. Get a bucket that can hold 35 pounds of coffee and a scoop that can scoop about .5 pounds of coffee. Grind 32 pounds of your blend into the bucket.
2. Move the Fill Cylinder out by pressing the CHANGE CYLINDER button before filling.
**If you skip this step, the first 6 cups maybe 20% over normal weight, and clogging may occur during filling if the coffee is very finely ground.
3. Scoop one pound of coffee from the bucket and pour the coffee back and forth onto the back walls, It should create a 45-degree angle from front to rear.
**Pouring coffee directly in will result in clumping and inconsistent filling of cups.
4. Continue to scoop and pour the coffee back and forth onto the back wall until the hopper is filled.
5. You should use the coffee in the hopper within 30 minutes of filling in order to prevent the coffee in the hopper from compacting under the force of gravity.
6. Limit the use of the RESET button as it could cause coffee to appear on the rim of the first fill. No need to push RESET when adding additional cups during production.
